About This Call
Photowork 2015 is the 27th Annual National Juried Photography Exhibition presented by Dutchess County Art Association and Barrett Art Center. The exhibition will be held Saturday, June 20 - Saturday, August 8, with an opening reception on Saturday, June 20, 3-5pm at Barrett Art Center, 55 Noxon Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
Photowork is a premier national exhibition of new photographic images visited by art appreciators from a five-county area including parts of Connecticut and New York City. The show brings together photographers from 30 to 40 states each year and celebrates the photograph both as fine art and as social commentary. The spirit of the show is a juxtaposition of traditional styles and cutting edge images. Winners in the past have included traditional 35mm photographs, silver gelatin prints, digital prints and pinhole camera pictures. Cash prizes are awarded and determined by the juror, Katherine Ware (Curator of Photography, New Mexico Museum of Art, Santa Fe), announced at the Opening Reception.
Submit 4-6 images of work completed within the last four years. Work previously exhibited at DCAA/Barrett Art Center is not eligible, and student projects are not eligible. Submitted entries should be no larger than 36 inches on the longest dimension. Entry fee is $40 for non-members ($30 for members) for the first four images plus $5 for each additional image. Selected works must be received June 8-10 and must be properly mounted, framed and ready to hang. Images of accepted works will be retained by DCAA/BAC for publicity and documentation purposes. For sales, Barrett Art Center retains 40% commission for non-members (60% remitted to artist) and 25% for members (75% remitted to artist). For more information, contact [email protected] or call (845) 471-2550.
