PhotoMidwest Biennial Exhibition 2024

PhotoMidwest will present its 13th Biennial Juried Exhibition in fall 2024 in Madison, Wisconsin. The exhibition showcases photographers from 13 Midwest U.S. states: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Festival exhibitions occur at various galleries, including the Arts + Literature Laboratory, Overture Center for the Arts, PhotoMidwest Studio, and the Pyle Center on the UW Campus. The exhibit will be on view at the Arts + Literature Laboratory from September 17 to November 9, 2024, with an opening reception on September 27, 2024, at 6-8 p.m. CST. Images from the exhibition will also feature in an online gallery, the website, and social media platforms.

All photographic imagery is eligible for submission, including traditional film, alternative process, digital, and all post-production techniques. Entry fees are $45 for up to three images, with additional images available for $10 each. PhotoMidwest members receive a $10 discount. Submissions must be made digitally through CallForEntry.org. The submission deadline is July 1, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time. All artists will receive email notification of acceptance by August 5, 2024. All images must be received at the Arts + Literature Laboratory by September 6, 2024.

The exhibition is juried by Kris Graves, an artist and publisher based in New York and California whose work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, the Getty Institute, and the National Portrait Gallery in London. Awards include a Best of Show prize of $500 and five Images of Distinction awards of $100 each. Contributing artists are responsible for shipping, return costs, and transit insurance.
