Photography Unbound

Niza Knoll Gallery invites artists to submit work for the "Photography Unbound" juried exhibition running in conjunction with Denver's Month of Photography in March 2025. The gallery seeks submissions using techniques of collage, photomontage, assemblage, or mixed media that incorporate photography as a main element. Work may combine photos with drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking, transfers, or other art forms. All photographic images must be created by the artist, with at least one photographic image required. Works may be created and presented in digital or analog format, 2-D or 3-D. No AI-generated images are permitted. The theme is open to artist interpretation, and work will be judged on visual impact, creativity, quality, and originality of presentation.

The exhibition will be juried by Amy Norton and gallery owner Niza Knoll. The exhibition runs February 28 – March 30, 2025, with an artist reception on Sunday, March 2, 2025, 1-4 pm. Entry fee is $35.00 for 1 to 3 entries (non-refundable). Accepted work must be dropped off in person at 915 Santa Fe Drive, Denver on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 11 am – 3 pm. Notification of accepted works will be announced Sunday, February 19, 2025. All accepted artwork must be for sale and remain in the gallery until Sunday, March 30, 2025. Gallery commission on sales is 40%. Artists are solely responsible for delivery and pickup of artwork. Applicants must be over 18 years of age.

2-D work must be ready to hang with secure wire, use simple frames, and cannot exceed 48 inches wide x 72 inches long. Unframed paintings on canvas or board must have at least a 1-inch border. 3-D work must not exceed 30 pounds total, with wall-hung pieces limited to 25 pounds. Pedestal-displayed 3-D work should not exceed 24 x 24 inches at the base. All artwork must be well executed, clean, dry, and ready to display.
