Photography Series and Repetition

Site:Brooklyn Gallery seeks to exhibit diverse and exciting ways that photographers use sequence and series in their work. Repetition and seriality are built into every level of photography from the production process to its aesthetic theory to the real-life practice of taking pictures. The gallery is looking for work that actively engages with all aspects of repetition and series in photography, which might include subject matter, formal qualities, method, presentation, and much else.

This juried exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in photography. Only original works may be submitted. The entry fee is $35.00 for up to three images, with $10 for each additional image (maximum 12 images). All entries must be received by March 17, 2019 at 11:59 PM MT. Artists will be notified on March 25, 2019. The exhibition runs May 3 – June 1, 2019, with an opening reception on Friday, May 3 from 6-9 PM.

All artwork must be suitably framed to professional standard with maximum dimensions of 60" x 60" x 6" D. Work must be wired or have a cleat attachment and ready for hanging. A label must be affixed to the back indicating artist name, title, medium, dimensions, price, and which end is the top. All artwork must be priced for sale. Site:Brooklyn retains a 50% commission on all exhibition sales. Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping and must provide their own insurance. Work cannot be withdrawn or sales shipped before the end of the exhibit. The juror is Elisabeth Biondi, former Visuals Editor of The New Yorker.
