Photography Now!

Umpqua Valley Arts Association presents Photography Now!, a juried photography exhibition. The submission deadline is March 4, 2016, with exhibit dates from May 6 to June 27, 2016. The juror is Laura Valenti, a photographer, curator, educator, and arts director based in Portland, Oregon, who serves as Outreach Director at Photolucida.

Eligibility is open to all artists using photography as a medium. Artists may submit up to 3 entries in all themes and photographic processes. All work must be original, created entirely by the entrant, completed within the last two years, and not previously exhibited at UVAA. Entry fees are $20 for UVAA members and $30 for non-members, covering 1-3 artwork entries. Cash awards are $500 for 1st Place, $200 for 2nd Place, and $100 for 3rd Place. All entries must be for sale. UVAA commission rates are 30% for members and 40% for non-members.

Entries must be submitted as digital JPEG files through the CaFE website. File requirements: JPEG format only, minimum 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, and 5 MB maximum file size. Accepted artwork must be display-ready upon arrival, fit through a standard 3-foot wide door, and weigh less than 50 lbs. Art delivery to UVAA is due by May 2, 2016. The opening reception is Friday, May 6 from 5-7 pm. Artwork pickup/shipping is Tuesday, July 5-6, 2016 from 10 am to 5 pm. UVAA will insure each accepted work for 60% of its value from arrival until release to the shipping agent. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs.
