About This Call
The Emerald Art Center announces Photography at the Emerald: 4th Annual Autumn Exhibition 2019, a juried fine art photography competition open to all photographers residing in the United States. The exhibition will be on display from September 3rd through September 28th, 2019 at the Emerald Art Center, 500 Main Street, Springfield, OR 97477.
Photographers may submit up to four images per entry, with a maximum of two entries per artist. Entry fee is $35 for one image, with each additional image costing $5 (up to four images for $50). All photographs must be no larger than 42" in any direction including frame. Qualifying media include all genera of photography; if the final print includes other mediums, it is considered mixed media and a statement of execution must be provided. The final print must be at least 50% an original photo image. Juror Craig Hickman, Professor Emeritus at University of Oregon Department of Art and Founder of Portland's Blue Sky Gallery, will select up to 90 finalists and prize winners.
Cash prizes total more than $4,000: Best of Show $1,250; Gold Medal $1,000; Silver Medal $750; Bronze Medal $500; Best Wet Chemistry Print $250; People's Choice $250. Other sponsored awards will be announced. Accepted work must be shipped "installation ready" with wire hangers or hanging cleats (no sawtooth hangers). A $25 handling fee applies for shipped artwork, $10 for hand-delivered. Notification to artists will be via email on August 4th, 2019. Shipped photographs must be received by August 30th; hand-delivered photographs may be delivered August 31st, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Photographs must be for sale; Emerald Art Center retains 35% commission. Entry deadline is Tuesday, July 30th, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Online CAFE entries only; postal entries will not be accepted.
