Photography at the Emerald: 3rd Annual Autumn Exhibition - 2018

The Emerald Art Center announces Photography at the Emerald: 3rd Annual Autumn Exhibition - 2018, a juried fine art photography competition open to all photographers residing in the United States, 18 or older. The competition features more than $4,000 in cash awards: Best of Show: $1,000; Gold Medal: $750; Silver Medal: $500; Bronze Medal: $250; People's Choice: $200; "Best Wet Chemistry Print": $200; "Best Mixed Media Print": $200, with other awards to be announced. Juror Paula Goodbar, director of the Emerald Art Center, will select up to 90 finalists for the exhibition.

Entry requirements: Photographers may submit up to four images per entry, with a maximum of two entries per artist included in the exhibition. Entry fee is $35 for one image; each additional image is $5, up to four images for $50. All photographs must be no larger than 42" in any direction including frame. Diptychs and triptychs must be contained in one frame meeting size requirements. Qualifying media include all genera of photography; if the final print includes other mediums, it is considered mixed media and a statement of execution must be provided. The final print must be at least 50% an original photo image. All entries are presented to the juror anonymously. Photographs must be for sale; the Emerald Art Center retains 35% commission.

Entry deadline: Tuesday, July 17th, 2018. Online CAFE entries only; postal entries will not be accepted. Notification to artists will be via email on Sunday, July 22nd, 2018. Accepted photographs must be shipped and received no later than August 22nd, or hand-delivered August 25th, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Accepted artwork must be shipped "installation ready" and framed with wire hangers. A $25 handling fee is assessed for shipped artwork, $10 for hand-delivered, which is refunded if the piece sells. The exhibition will be on display from August 28th through September 28th, 2018. Artist's reception: Saturday, September 1st, 7-9 pm. Artwork will be shipped from the gallery by October 4th or hand-delivered pickup available Saturday, September 29th, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Accepted work which differs significantly from the image provided will be rejected. No price change may be made after entries are accepted. Emerald Art Center is not responsible for artwork while in transit; artists must carry their own insurance and are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance of artwork.
