Phenomenal Queen: Coretta Scott King Classroom Curriculum

Morning Brown, Inc., is pleased to offer a four-unit interactive and interdisciplinary curriculum exploring the life and work of Mrs. Coretta Scott King and the orchestral work composed in her honor by James Lee III, Phenomenal Queen: Coretta Scott King. Designed for middle and high school students, this curriculum can be used to prepare for a live performance or as an enrichment activity after listening to a recording. Created by veteran music curriculum writer Terry Taylor and music sociologist Joshua Thompson, the lessons adhere to Universal Design for Learning principles. The curriculum includes four units with step-by-step teacher plans, guided discussions, and adaptable activities that can be used separately or as a comprehensive study. Downloads available below.
