About This Call
Pew Fellowships in the Arts offers residencies to eligible artists. If accepted, Fellows will receive a residency in 2014 of at least one month at one of the participating residency programs, as well as a $2,500 stipend to offset travel and other costs of the residency. Stipends are considered taxable income by the IRS; the Alliance of Artists Communities will issue a 1099 to each artist and to the IRS, and artists are responsible for any related taxes owed.
Eligibility: Artists who were awarded Pew Fellowships in 2010, 2011, or 2012 are eligible to apply for 2014 residencies. Artists who have already received two residencies through Pew's residency partnerships (at 18th Street Arts Center, Banff Centre, Headlands Center for the Arts, The MacDowell Colony, or Ucross) are not eligible to apply in 2013.
Work sample requirements: Up to 20 images, up to 6 audio files (maximum 15 minutes each), up to 6 video files (maximum 15 minutes each and no larger than 100mb), or up to three written work samples (poets may submit up to 10 poems in a single file). Total samples may not exceed 32. Applicants have the option of having residencies review work that Pew already has on file or uploading new work samples based on the guidelines.
