About This Call
This exhibition is open to all artists over the age of 18 residing in the United States. Work must be made within the last two years and cannot have been previously shown at the Art Center. All work must be original and made by the artist or artist team; collaborative works are eligible. Artworks must connect to the natural world in some way, through media, subject matter, or concept. All media is eligible, although work must have a tie-in to the natural world, literally or figuratively, as subject matter. Installation artists should contact the Art Center before applying to ensure compatibility of space. 2D artwork must not weigh more than 250 pounds or be bigger than 10' x 10'.
Entry fee is $35 for submission of two pieces, with a $5 additional fee for up to 6 pieces. Each artist or artist team may submit up to six pieces of work for jurying. Work samples must include a minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 total samples (images, audio, or video combined). The juror is Jo Banister, an independent curator and art historian with a focus on 1980s Activist Art.
Awards include Best in Show ($500), Best in 2D including video ($250), and Best in 3D including installation ($250). Awards will be announced at the Opening Reception on Friday, August 25th, 2023 from 5-8pm. All accepted work must remain on display until October 29th, 2023.
