Performance Report WHERE WE LIVE | City of Des Moines

The Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation (GDMPAF), in partnership with the City of Des Moines, invites artists to submit work for the 2011 Performance Report competition. The theme is "Where We Live." Selected artworks will be reproduced in a City of Des Moines publication that will be distributed to neighborhood associations, libraries, City Hall, and other high-traffic areas throughout the city. A digital copy will also be available in English and Spanish on the City of Des Moines website.

Artists may submit up to six (6) digital images of 2-D or 3-D works of art. Each image must be titled with a date, medium or materials, and dimensions. Eleven (11) entries will be selected, including one for the cover page, based on quality and thematic representation. Selection criteria include interpretation of the theme, creativity and originality, quality of artistic composition and overall design, and overall impression of the artwork. Judging will be conducted by a panel of experts selected by GDMPAF, city officials, and community leaders.

Prizes include a cover prize of $2,000 and ten (10) $500 prizes. A "People's Choice" recognition will honor one of the 11 juried works selected through an online social media campaign. There is no application fee. Entries are accepted electronically through CaFE at www.callforentry.org. Notification of selected artists will be sent by email on April 16, 2012, and the Performance Report will be published the week of June 25, 2012.
