About This Call
The Pence Gallery announces the Emerging Artist Award 2025, which supports the creation of new work by emerging artists in California. The award of $4,000 must be used to further the artist's work in a significant direction. Winners will have the opportunity to exhibit their work and participate in an artist talk in January to February 2026.
Artists may work in any medium except video or sound art. Applicants must be California residents, 18 or older, and defined as emerging—early in their art career with limited exhibit experience but without an extensive solo exhibit history. Submitted work must be original, of high caliber, and completed within the past five years.
Applications must include a resume with exhibit history and education, an artist statement, and 10-15 digital images of current work submitted via www.callforentry.org. The application fee is $35 ($30 for Pence members). The deadline is April 4, 2025 at 9 PM PST. The winner will be announced by April 25, 2025. This award is sponsored by Rosa Marquez & Yatish Mishra.
