PAUSE...2020

AMoA's PAUSE 2020 is a special 6-week exhibition featuring works created by Central Louisiana artists during 2020. The exhibition explores themes of fear, isolation, and protest, as well as hope and faith, reflecting the challenges present in communities during the year of social unrest surrounding racial disparities and COVID-19.

Eligibility: Artists residing in Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Vernon, and Winn Parishes in Louisiana are eligible. All artists over 18 working in any medium may enter. All works must be original and completed during 2020. Each artist may submit two entries with a non-refundable entry fee of $25.00. Digital images must be smaller than 5MB and saved as JPG at 300 dpi or higher. Entries must include identifying information, artist statement (maximum 100 words), media information, price, and year completed. Entries will be juried from digital images by AMoA staff.

Deadline for entry is November 17, 2020. Notice of invitation will be sent by email on December 1, 2020. Invited works must arrive at Alexandria Museum of Art, 933 Second Street, Alexandria, LA 71301, no later than December 22, 2020. Hand deliveries are accepted Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pm and Saturday 10am-4pm. Shipped works must include pre-paid return shipping labels. The exhibition opens to the public January 9, 2021, and closes February 20, 2021. A 30% commission will be charged on all sales. Works will be insured for the duration of the show while on AMoA premises.
