PATTERNS

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels to submit original artwork to the PATTERNS exhibition. This national call explores patterns in all forms—from the geometry found in natural and man-made objects to human activities. Consider flowers in gardens, trees in forests, waves, animal skins, architectural features, dance choreography, abstract art, and collages. Artists are invited to share representational or abstract work in any style: simple or complex, lucid or mysterious, calm or frenetic, traditional or experimental. Images may be color or black-and-white. Accepted mediums include painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, ink, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography.

Submission is exclusively through CAFE (CallForEntry) at https://www.callforentry.org. Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images; additional images may be submitted for $5.00 each up to a maximum of 9 total images. All images must be JPEG format, under 5 MB, with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Include title, medium, size, price, and year of completion with your submission. Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for secure installation with stretched wire attached to the back. Maximum dimensions are 48 inches (framed) on the longest side and 45 lbs for paintings; sculpture should not exceed 28 inches on any dimension. Photographs should be framed with black or white frames preferred.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by email on or about October 19, 2025. Accepted artwork must arrive at the gallery no later than November 14, 2025. The exhibition runs November 20 - December 31, 2025. Awards include an Art of Distinction Award featuring a special exhibition, an Annual Grand Prize offering a New York City exhibition opportunity, and a Director's Choice Award of $200. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs both to and from the gallery and must provide a prepaid return shipping label. The MVA Gallery is located in historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, one hour from New York City.
