Pattern and Abstraction

This online exhibition highlights pieces of art that feature patterns and/or abstractions. The Rhode Island Watercolor Society encourages a variety of interpretations and welcomes submissions that may or may not be abstract. The exhibition runs February 17th through March 22nd, with an online opening reception on Thursday, February 22nd at 6pm on Zoom. Notification of acceptance will be sent February 16th.

The exhibition is open to all 2D media excluding photography and digital art. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, and egg tempera on any 2D surface. Submissions must be 1-3 images at $15 each for non-members or $10 each for members. Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show, must have been completed within the last 10 years, and must be original work not copied from copyrighted material or created under the direct guidance of another or following a tutorial. Work may be listed as not for sale (NFS) by contacting the gallery at [email protected]. There is no size limit for this show. Over $300 in cash prizes will be awarded. The juror is Linnea Toney Leeming. If work is sold through the online gallery, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society will receive 35% of the sale, with shipping costs paid by the buyer or artist.
