Pattern & Abstraction

Pattern & Abstraction is an exhibition at FE Gallery in Sacramento, CA seeking artwork with strong elements of pattern or abstraction. The gallery intends to select abstract work with ambitious use of artistic elements—line, space, shape, form, texture, value, and color—to create an exhibit that juxtaposes various extremes. Representational works are not accepted. The exhibition is open to all mediums and is a USA national show; overseas shipping is not permitted.

Approximately 50 art pieces will be selected by the booking committee. The exhibition will run for approximately 2 months and will include two evening receptions for opening and closing events, with normal weekday hours of 9am-4pm Monday through Friday. One artist will be selected as "Gallery Pick" to receive a USD 500 prize. Art may be listed for sale in the gallery's online store at FEgallery.com and at the physical gallery location (1100 65th Street, Sacramento, CA 95819).

Entry fee is $20.00 for the first entry and $5.00 for each additional entry. Submissions must include 1-6 images. Artists should email the gallery about artwork requiring special care, such as pieces over 100 lbs., extremely fragile items, or work requiring on-site assembly. All entering artists will be notified via email. Key dates: participants will be selected and notified by April 30, 2019; paperwork deadline is May 16, 2019; art delivery is May 27-31, 2019; public opening is June 8, 2019; closing reception is July 26, 2019; art return/pick-up is July 29-August 2, 2019.
