About This Call
The Anchorage Museum's Patricia B. Wolf Solo Exhibition Series supports the work and development of Alaskan artists by highlighting new bodies of work by individual artists. The museum is accepting proposals from Alaska residents and all tribally enrolled Alaska Natives. Submissions are juried by a panel of art professionals and museum staff, and all media will be considered.
A complete application must include up to 20 images of representative work, a resume, an artist statement describing your intent for the solo exhibition and the artwork you would like to create or project and media you would explore, and a non-refundable entry fee of $35. The deadline for entries is March 11, 2016, with notification by March 31, 2016 via email only. The museum does not offer panel or review comments or feedback for proposals that are not selected.
The Anchorage Museum encourages artists to develop new works for this opportunity. The images submitted for review do not have to be among the works exhibited. While the museum annually presents solo exhibitions, several artists are selected in each round and it may be one to five years before the scheduling and presentation of the exhibition occurs. The museum also accepts curatorial or group proposals featuring more than one artist, which will be brought before the Museum's Exhibition Review Committee for consideration through a separate process. Exhibition spaces are limited and the museum balances a variety of programs and disciplines.
