Pastel Society of Maine Open Juried Exhibition

The Pastel Society of Maine invites submissions for its Open Juried Exhibition. This competition is open to all soft pastel artists working in any subject and style, except erotic and overtly political works.

Artwork Requirements: Paintings must be original designs and compositions completed within the past two years, with a surface comprised of at least 80% soft pastels (no oil pastel). There is no size limit. Paintings that have won top awards (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in any National or International juried pastel competition may not be submitted, nor may paintings previously shown in Pastel Society of Maine juried competitions. Work must not be simultaneously submitted to other national or international juried art competitions.

Submission Details: Submit high-quality JPEG images at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images must be cropped to show only the artwork with no visible matting, frames, or background. All entries must have either a sale price or be marked not for sale (NFS). Entry fees are paid by credit or debit card and are non-refundable. Entries may be edited until the deadline of April 8, 2024. Awards include President's Award ($200), Memorial Award ($150), and PSA reciprocal ($100).
