Passion

The San Fernando Valley Arts & Cultural Center invites artists and photographers nationwide to participate in SCORE's (Southern California Open Regional Exhibitions) virtual art exhibit titled "Passion." The exhibition challenges artists to showcase their unbridled enthusiasm and ignite a powerful connection with viewers by exploring the limitless possibilities of what they are passionate about.

Artists may submit up to 6 original artworks as high-resolution JPGs in the following media: drawing, mixed media, collage, printmaking, fiber art, photography, painting, digital art, and sculpture. Submissions must be unframed unless framing is crucial to artistic presentation. All digital images should be cropped to remove background or placed on a black background without a mat. No AI work is accepted. Entry fee is $35 for the first artwork, with additional entries at $5 each. The deadline for entries is January 7, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Acceptance notifications will be sent by email on January 12, 2024, with award winners notified on January 15, 2024.

The exhibit opens February 1, 2024 and closes March 31, 2024, with a virtual artists reception on February 10, 2024 at 5 p.m. PST. Awards include Best of Show ($800), 1st Place ($400), 2nd Place ($300), 3rd Place, and 4 Honorable Mentions. The juror is Shana Nys Dambrot, an art critic, curator, and Arts Editor for L.A. Weekly. All juried artwork must remain online until the end of the exhibit. Sales are handled directly between artists and buyers with no commission to SFVACC. The exhibit will remain viewable on the SFVACC website's Archived Exhibits page indefinitely.
