Passages - January 2026 Juried 2D + 3D Exhibition

The Arts Guild of Sonoma invites artists from Sonoma, Marin, Solano, Alameda, San Francisco, Contra Costa, Mendocino, and Napa counties to submit work for Passages, a juried 2D and 3D exhibition opening January 2026. This show calls on artists to explore the rich symbolism of passages—doorways, transitions, time, and transformation—through their mediums and creativity. The theme draws inspiration from Janus, the Roman god of beginnings, endings, and thresholds. Artists are encouraged to interpret passages through personal, cultural, or symbolic lenses—whether reflecting on the past, engaging with the present, or imagining the future. Proceeds from the exhibition will directly benefit Sonoma Valley high school students through arts education programs.

Eligible media include painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography (original prints only), and mixed media. Artists may submit up to two works for consideration. All pieces must weigh under 25 lbs (including frame or base), be ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers), and measure between 12" x 12" and 28" x 28". Entry fee is $40 (covers up to two submissions). The commission rate is 65% Artist/35% Gallery. Honorable Mention award is $100. Jurors are Jim Callahan (bronze sculptor) and Dennis Ziemienski (award-winning painter, designer, illustrator).

Artists must deliver work in person to the gallery on Tuesday, December 30th between 11:00am-3:00pm. The exhibition runs Wednesday, December 31st through Monday, January 26th, 2026. An artist reception is scheduled for Saturday, January 10th, 2026 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Artists must pick up work on Tuesday, January 27th between 11am-3:00pm.
