About This Call
This invitational and juried exhibition explores innovation, creativity and connection through work created by international artists incorporating paper pulp and organic fibers in their studio practice. It is the first exhibition to feature international paperclay artists as part of a touring exhibition.
The exhibition includes works from 20 invited and juried artists. Invited artists include Cristina Cordova (US), Barbro Aberg (Sweden), Susan Collett (Canada), Mette Maya Gregersen (Denmark), Antonella Cimatti (Italy), Paola Paronetto (Italy), Rebecca Hutchinson (US), Jerry Bennett (US), Graham Hay (Australia), Angela Mellor (UK), and Anjani Khanna (India). The exhibition will tour from June 2019 through 2021, visiting several US museums including the ASU Art Museum Ceramics Research Center, Nora Eccles Museum of Art, The Fuller Craft Museum, and the Holter Museum of Art.
Eligibility: Open to all artists worldwide, age 18 and older, using paperclay as the main material in their artwork. Artwork must be completed within the last two years and not exceed 36 by 36 inches. Functional or sculptural works, free-standing or wall pieces are eligible. Submitted works must not have been previously accepted or awarded in domestic or international competitions. Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable). A maximum of 2 works are allowed per entry. Submit 3-6 images per work in JPEG format at 300 dpi minimum resolution. All documentation must be in English. Accepted works may be hand delivered or shipped prepaid; all works must arrive three weeks prior to the opening exhibition. Artists are responsible for insuring works in transit to the opening exhibition site. The exhibition will carry insurance for work while in transit between museums and each museum will insure work while on display.
