PAPNM 15th National Juried Members Exhibition

The PAPNM 15th National Juried Members Exhibition is a juried exhibition and sale of original two-dimensional en plein air artworks presented by the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico (PAPNM) and hosted by the Legends of the West Gallery from September 1-16, 2023. The opening reception and awards presentation is September 1, 6:00-8 p.m. at Legends of the West Gallery, 102 East Water, Suite 13, Santa Fe, New Mexico, 87501. PAPNM is a 501(c)6 non-profit organization of artists dedicated to preserving and promoting painting "en plein air" - in the open air or outdoors.

Eligibility is limited to current PAPNM members (artist members, signature members, and master signature members) working in two-dimensional mediums: oil media (traditional and water-mixable), wet media (acrylic, watercolor, and gouache), dry media (pastel), and encaustics. Digital work will not be considered. All work must be at least 80% completed en plein air during the last two years. Works painted prior to September 1, 2021 will be withdrawn from jury consideration. Works must not violate copyright laws, must be original concept painted solely by the entering artist, and cannot have been shown in any previous PAPNM juried member exhibition. Works done under instructor guidance are not eligible.

Each artist may submit up to 4 images. The entry fee is $46 for the first image and $10 for each additional image, paid via CaFÉ. One artwork may be selected for exhibition from each artist. Maximum framed size is 378 square inches (18"x21"), with maximum framed width of 21". Signatures must not be visible on entry images. All accepted works must be framed with hanging wire attached; no zigzag or sawtooth hangers allowed. Minimum artwork price is $400. Accepted artworks must be delivered to the gallery between August 21-25 via FedEx or UPS, or hand-delivered August 27-28. Professional art shipping containers are required; those not using professional containers will be assessed a $50 processing fee. Jury notification will be emailed July 17, 2023. PAPNM master signature members are welcome to participate but are not eligible for awards.
