PAPERWORKS 2023

Paperworks 2023 is an international, juried competition for artists creating work on, with, or about paper. The competition accepts works made on paper, of paper, or about paper including cut paper, folded paper, woven paper, glued paper, drawings, paintings, pastels, printmaking, photographs, paper sculpture, 3D work, bound books, collage, mixed media, video, and installation. There are no size limitations. Artists will be juried on their body of work, and all entries must be original work of the artist.

The entry fee is $35.00 for up to 6 images and/or 2 videos. The submission deadline is May 24, 2023. Selected artists will have up to six pieces and/or 2 videos included in a virtual online exhibition on the gallery's website from July 1-31, 2023. An opening reception will be held Saturday, July 8 at 7:00pm EST via Zoom. Artists will be notified on or about June 7, 2023.

Cash awards are provided for 1st place ($300), 2nd place ($200), and 3rd place ($100). Selected artists will be promoted on the gallery's social media accounts, and images of artwork, artist name, voice, video, artist's statement, and/or bio may be used to promote the exhibition. The juror is Emily Olek, Curatorial Assistant in the Department of Drawings and Prints at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
