PAPERWORKS 2022

Paperworks 2022 is an international, juried competition for artists creating work on, with, or about paper. The competition accepts works made on paper, of paper, or about paper including cut paper, folded paper, woven paper, glued paper, drawings, paintings, pastels, printmaking, photographs, paper sculpture, 3D, bound books, collage, mixed media, video, and installation. Artists must use paper as their primary medium, as a substrate, or as the subject of a video. All entries must be original work of the artist.

Selected artists will have up to six pieces included in a one-month online exhibition on bjspokegallery.org from August 1-31, 2022. Artists will be promoted on the gallery's social media accounts. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place artists. An opening reception will be held Saturday, August 13th at 7:00pm online via Zoom. Artists will be notified on or about June 10, 2022.

Entry fee is $35.00 for up to 6 images and/or 2 videos. Submissions may include up to 8 total work samples (minimum 1). Up to 2 applications are allowed per artist. If selected, images of artwork, artist name, voice, video, artist's statement and/or bio will be used on bjspokegallery.org, social media, print and other publicity for Paperworks 2022. The juror is Kiko Aebi, Curatorial Assistant in the Department of Drawings and Prints at The Museum of Modern Art.
