Paperworks 2021

Paperworks 2021 is a juried competition for artists living in the United States who use paper as their primary medium, as a substrate, or as the subject of a video. Accepted media includes works made of, on or about paper: cut paper, folded paper, woven paper, glued paper, drawings, paintings, pastels, printmaking, photographs, paper sculpture, 3D, bound books, collage, mixed media, video, and installation.

Selected winners will have an exhibition of up to 6 works at b.j. spoke gallery in Huntington, NY from August 5-30, 2020. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, August 8th from 6:00-9:00pm. Winners will be promoted on the b.j. spoke gallery website, social media, and in press releases.

Entry fee is $35.00 for up to 6 images. Submissions must include a minimum of 1 work sample and a maximum of 8 total samples (up to 6 images and up to 2 videos). The submission deadline is May 15, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified on or about June 8, 2020. All work must be framed and wired and/or display-ready. Installation pieces must be installed and removed by the artist. Use plexiglass only – no glass for any shipped work. Artists are responsible for shipping their own work to and from the exhibit. Delivery dates are on or about July 22-31, 2020.
