About This Call
B.J. Spoke Gallery invites artists living in the United States to submit work for PAPERWORKS 2016, a juried competition celebrating art made of, on, or about paper. Eligible media includes cut paper, folded paper, woven paper, glued paper, drawings, paintings, pastels, prints, photographs, paper sculpture, 3D work, bound books, collage, mixed media, video, and installation.
Selected works will be exhibited August 2-28, 2016 at B.J. Spoke Gallery (299 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743), with a reception on Saturday, August 6, 6-9 PM. The exhibition will be juried by Heidi Hirschl, Curatorial Assistant at the Museum of Modern Art, NY. Artists will be notified of acceptance or rejection by May 30, 2016.
Entry fee is $35.00. Applicants may submit up to 2 applications and up to 6 total work samples (images and/or video). All work must be framed and wired and/or display-ready. Installation pieces must be installed and removed by the artist. Use plexiglass only—no glass for shipped work. Artists are responsible for shipping their own work to and from the exhibit.
