About This Call
Paper Works is a group exhibition at Fort Works Art running June 6-24, 2017. Artists are invited to submit 1-3 works on paper. The entry fee is $35.00, and submissions are due by May 10, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Submissions must include 1-3 images. Artists will be notified by May 15, and work must be received by Tuesday, May 30. Artists must include a return shipping label. Art sales will be split 50/50 between the artist and Fort Works Art.
Paper Works will be shown in conjunction with Tropism, a solo exhibition by installation artist Crystal Wagner. Crystal Wagner is an internationally renowned, Harrisburg-based artist whose work has been featured in the New York Times, Architectural Digest, Hi Fructose, Complex Art & Design, and VH1.
The exhibition is juried by Alison Hearst, Curator at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Hearst is the curator of the museum's FOCUS exhibition series and has presented exhibitions of artists including Fred Tomaselli, Joyce Pensato, Stanley Whitney, Thomas Demand, and Lorna Simpson. She also organized Donald Sultan: The Disaster Paintings, which opened at the Modern in February. Hearst holds an MA in Art History from Texas Christian University and a BFA in Art History from the University of North Texas. The opportunity is open to international artists.
