Paper

"Paper" is an online juried exhibition exploring paper as both artistic medium and subject. The 20th century marked the peak and subsequent decline of paper's dominance in everyday life. Paper, created from textile waste, is deeply woven into modern life and can be associated with transformation of work, easy replication, industriousness, disposability, creativity, and experimentation. Since its invention, these qualities have encouraged artists to prepare, design, and experiment on paper. Site:Brooklyn is seeking works that continue and expand the tradition established by artists like Dorothea Rockburne, Ed Ruscha, and Robert Rauschenberg, who developed paper as both a physical object and subject.

This juried exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in all media. Only original works may be submitted. Submissions require 3-12 images and up to 3 videos. Entry fee is $26.00 for three images, with an additional $10.00 per image. All artwork must be priced for sale and remain available throughout the exhibition. Artists will retain a 60% commission on all sales. The exhibition runs February 13 - March 13, 2025. Juror Rachel Gladfelter is Director at Pace Paper, formerly gallery director for Pace Prints NYC and Studio Director for Dieu Donne Paper.

Final submission deadline: January 23, 2025 at 11:59 PM MT. Notification of acceptance: January 31, 2025. Accepted artists must upload high-resolution photo files of their work. For questions, contact [email protected].
