PAPAT Pastel Art Competition

This is a national pastel art competition open to all pastel artists 18 years or older. Artists may submit up to 5 images, with an entry fee of $35.00 for the first image and $10.00 for each additional image.

Eligibility requirements: Works must be created in dry pastel (no oil pastels; mixed media must be predominantly dry pastel with at least 80% dry application on the top layer). All artwork must be original and created within the last 2 years (no work done earlier than November 18, 2022). Works must not have been created in classroom or workshop scenarios, copied from other artists or published materials, created on top of photographic images, or generated using Artificial Intelligence software. Work may not have been accepted in any previous national or international exhibitions. Submitted images should not include frames.

Prizes include: First Place - $500, Second Place - $300, Third Place - $200, and 5 Awards of Excellence at $100 each. By submitting, artists retain copyright to their work but consent to PAPAT's use of images for publicity and archival purposes. Submitted images must be high-quality JPEG files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. The entry deadline is November 18, 2024.
