PAO Pastel Exhibition

This is a juried pastel exhibition open to PAO members over the age of 18. Cash awards are offered in each category: $600 for Best of Show, $400 for First Place, $250 for Second Place, $150 for Third Place, and Honorable Mention amounts to be announced.

Eligibility requirements include: all works must be 80% dry pastel with no oil pastel; photo-based paintings must be from photos taken by the artists themselves; paintings of nudes will be considered for acceptance; and any work previously accepted in a PAO exhibition or that has won an award in another pastel-only exhibition is not eligible. Failure to meet eligibility requirements may result in the artwork not being juried.

Submissions must be original, high-quality JPEG image files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images should be cropped to show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background distractions, and oriented correctly. Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline of September 11, 2023. Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline, and incomplete entries will be disqualified. For questions about the exhibition, contact Judy Richardson at [email protected].
