Palisade Art Vision, PAV 8th Annual Public Sculpture Exhibit

Palisade Art Vision, PAV was formed in 2015 to promote "Art as a part of everyday life" through an outdoor sculpture program. This regional call is open to artists from Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Arizona. Both representational and non-representational sculptures are welcomed. Sculptures should be nominally 12 inches to 9 feet tall, interesting from multiple angles, and made of materials appropriate for outdoor public locations in Colorado weather. Sculptures must be ADA and touch friendly, and must be exhibited for the full length of the exhibit, approximately one year.

Each selected artist will receive a stipend of $750 for sidewalk or 24" diameter pedestal sculptures, or $350 for small 12" pedestal sculptures. Out-of-town sculptors receive two nights complimentary lodging. PAV will handle all sales and retain a 25% commission for any sculpture purchase during or as a direct result of the exhibit. Installation is scheduled for Friday, September 22, 2023, with the unveiling and sculpture walk on September 23 at 10 AM. Pedestal pieces must have a metal plate for welding; sidewalk pieces must have brackets for bolting to cement. Artist presence during installation is expected.

Applicants may submit up to two sculptures with 2-3 images per sculpture through CaFE or by email request. The submission deadline is July 9, 2023. Jurying takes place July 10-24, with notifications sent July 27. Applicants should include talking points about their sculpture and briefly describe any public art experience, though previous experience is not required.
