Palisade Art Vision, PAV 7th Annual Public Sculpture Exhibit

Palisade Art Vision, PAV was formed in 2015 to promote "Art as a part of everyday life" through an outdoor sculpture program. This regional call invites sculptors from Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Arizona to exhibit work for approximately one year. Both representational and non-representational sculptures are welcomed. Sculptures should be 12 inches to 7 feet tall, interesting from multiple angles, and made of materials appropriate for outdoor public locations in Colorado weather. ADA and touch-friendly designs are preferred. Quality and craftsmanship are important selection criteria.

Eligible artists will receive a stipend of $750 for sidewalk or 24" diameter pedestal sculptures, or $350 for small 12" pedestal sculptures. Out-of-town sculptors receive two nights complimentary lodging. PAV will handle all sales and retain a 25% commission for any sculpture purchase during or as a direct result of the exhibit. Installation is scheduled for September 22-23, 2023, with an unveiling and sculpture walk on September 23. Sculptors must be present during installation and ensure their work arrives by September 8-9. Pedestal pieces require a metal plate for welding; sidewalk pieces require brackets for bolting to cement. Sculptures must be exhibited for the full length of the exhibit.

Applications are accepted through CaFE or by email request. Applicants may submit up to two sculptures with 2-3 images per sculpture. The submission deadline is July 9, 2023. Jurying occurs July 10-24, with notifications sent July 27. Include talking points about your sculpture and brief information about your experience. Previous public art experience is valued but not required.
