About This Call
Palisade Art Vision (PAV) was formed in 2015 to promote and embrace "Art as a part of everyday life." This regional call invites sculptors from Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Arizona to participate in the 4th Annual Public Sculpture Exhibit. Sculptures will be exhibited for approximately one year and must be ready for installation on September 14, 2019.
Eligibility and Design Requirements: Both representational and non-representational sculptures are welcomed. Sculptures should be nominally 18" to 7 feet tall and interesting from multiple angles. Materials must be appropriate for outdoor public locations in Colorado weather. Sculptures must be ADA and touch friendly, with quality craftsmanship. Previous public art experience is not required. Sculptures must be exhibited for the full length of the exhibit.
Artist Compensation and Installation: Each selected artist will receive a $750 stipend and two nights complimentary lodging for out-of-town sculptors. PAV will handle all sales and retain a 25% commission for any purchase during or as a direct result of the exhibit. Artist presence and experience with their sculpture are expected during installation on September 14th. Sculptures should arrive by 8AM on September 14th. Pedestal pieces must have a metal plate for welding; sidewalk pieces must have brackets for bolting to cement. Installation and unveiling will occur September 14th at 5PM at Palisade Plaza, followed by an art opening at Craig Gallery at 7PM.
Submission Details: Submit up to two pieces with 2-4 images per sculpture through CaFE or by email request. Submission deadline is July 7, 2019. Jurying occurs July 9-23, with notification to all sculptors on July 24.
