About This Call
Palisade Art Vision (PAV) was formed in 2015 to promote "Art as a part of everyday life." PAV is seeking 8 to 15 sculptures to enhance the sidewalks, plaza, and for the first time a local winery. The organization has grown from four temporary pieces to over fifteen sculptures and has purchased or sold more than a dozen of the exhibited sculptures. The sculpture unveiling and public sculpture walk/talk will be coordinated with Palisade's Sunday Farmers' Market, 32nd Colorado Mountain Winefest, and Palisade's 5th Annual Mountain Arts Festival.
Submissions must include 2 to 3 multiple angle images per sculpture. All selected pieces must be in-the-round with no relief locations. Three size categories are available: Small ($400 stipend, 11" base or smaller) for the wheelchair ramp; Pedestal ($700 stipend, 22" base or smaller) for metal and unique wine barrel pedestals; and Larger sidewalk or plaza ($1,000 stipend, mounted directly to the sidewalk or plaza). Artists should include a couple of memorable talking points about their sculpture for the public walk/talk.
Eligibility is open to regional artists with some connection to Colorado or neighboring states. Previous public art experience is valued but not required. Work will be juried by a local and diverse committee.
