Painting Today

Site:Brooklyn seeks submissions for "Painting Today," an online exhibition exploring how painters are engaging with and challenging traditional approaches to the medium. The exhibition welcomes works investigating gestural and figurative painting, abstraction, formalism, and expressionism. Artists are invited to submit works that demonstrate critical engagement with painting's history while charting new territories, whether through innovative materials, dimensional approaches, or digital-analog hybrid techniques.

Submissions must include 3-12 images and up to 3 videos. Entry fee is $26.00 for three images, with an additional $10.00 per image. Only original works may be submitted. All artwork must be priced for sale and remain available throughout the exhibition period. Artists will retain a 60% commission on all sales. The exhibition runs May 27 - June 27, 2025. Juror is Rachel Vera Steinberg, Curator & Director of Exhibitions at Smack Mellon in Brooklyn. Notification of acceptance will be sent May 8, 2025. This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older.
