About This Call
Painting Through the Pandemic is an online exhibition open to all artists in the United States working in 2D media. The exhibition runs from March 6th through April 9th and will be displayed online only, not physically in the gallery.
Eligible media include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, egg tempera, and other 2D media on any 2D surface. Photography, 3D media, and reproductions are not acceptable. Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show and must have been completed within the last 10 years. While artists are encouraged to submit work created during the pandemic to fit the exhibition theme, this is a suggestion, not a requirement. Work may not be copied from copyrighted material or partially or wholly painted by another artist. Work may be listed as NFS (not for sale) by entering 0 in the price section or contacting the gallery at [email protected]. There is no size limit for this show.
Submission requires 1-3 digital images. Entry fee is $15 for non-members and $10 for members. If your work is sold through the online gallery, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society will receive 35% of the sale. Up to 50% of shipping costs will be provided at the gallery's discretion if a piece is purchased. Accepted work may not be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition, and submitted pieces may be used as promotional material by RIWS.
