Painted Gardens Art Fair 2026

The Painted Gardens Art Fair is a 2-day outdoor fine art fair presented by Summit Art and hosted by Powell Gardens, Kansas City's Botanical Gardens, located in Kingsville, MO. The event will feature artists from across the Kansas City region, Warrensburg, Sedalia, Columbia and beyond. This event is held on the opening weekend celebration of Painted Gardens, a 6-week botanical and art exhibition featuring inventive botanical displays, spring blooms, and works of art. This year's exhibit includes collaborative glass artists from Belger Arts in Kansas City, MO who will create vibrant glass art featured throughout the 6-week event.

Established in 1988, Powell Gardens maintains 175 acres of lush, rolling hills and windswept meadows with a large collection of plants open to the public for education, exploration, and recreation. The venue is located at 1609 US-50 E, Kingsville, MO 64061, twenty miles east of Lee's Summit and twenty miles west of Warrensburg.

Booths are located in the grass lawn behind the Powell Gardens Visitor Center. Artists will need to transport items approximately 150 feet from the loading zone to their booth location. All booth locations are accessible by golf cart provided by Powell Gardens. Artist amenities include booth sitters and volunteer assistance, an indoor artist hospitality lounge with restroom facilities, free nearby parking, event promotion and marketing, and an on-site cafe, snack bar and gift shop. The event is open to artists 18 years and older. All work must be original design created by the accepted artist(s). Mass-produced items, items made from molds or kits, and promotional items are not eligible. Invited artists must be present to exhibit and manage their displays; representatives may not attend in place of the artist. Artists may apply in up to two categories with separate jury fees. The jury fee is $30.00. Application deadline is March 2, 2026 by 11:59 pm CST. Jury dates are March 3-20, 2026, with artist notification sent via email on March 21, 2026. Contract and booth fees are due April 8, 2026. The last day for cancellation of booth fees with no refunds after is April 15, 2026. The event runs May 2-3, 2026.
