Paint Out Poulsbo (POP) is a juried 2D art competition and festival held in downtown Poulsbo at Sons of Norway (18891 Front St NE). The event features traditional art (painting, watercolor, drawing, mixed media) and digital art (fractal/algorithmic, 2D computer graphics, photo-painting, digital collage, 2D digital painting, manual vector drawing, integrated art/mixed media, hybrid painting, raster painting, computer-generated painting) competing for cash prizes and awards. Additional art and photography exhibitors will also be present with pieces available for sale. The festival includes musical entertainment by local musicians and Peninsula Music and Arts Society scholarship winners, a fundraising raffle offering airfare to Hawaii or $1,000 cash, and public attendance.
Eligibility and entry fees: Artists must be age 18 or older ($35 entry fee) or students ages 5-18 ($5 entry fee). Work must have been completed on or after June 3, 2019. Artists may enter up to three pieces. Artwork must not exceed 18"x24" or 432 square inches and must be wired for hanging (saw tooth picture hangers not accepted). All accepted work must be available for sale unless specified otherwise. Peninsula Music and Arts Society retains a 20% commission on sales for music and arts scholarships.
Total awards of $2,475 are available across both categories, with prizes for professional, amateur, and student divisions (ages 5-11 and 12-18).
