Paint Me Miami

Paint Me Miami is an international competition now in its fifth year seeking 24" x 36" paintings inspired by the City of Miami. Works can be either representational or abstract but must evoke the sites and feelings of the city. All selected pieces will be included in an exhibition at the Bakehouse Art Complex, with first place prizes of $2,000 awarded in both the abstract and representational categories.

Eligibility: Open to all artists over the age of 18 as of the call deadline working in two-dimensional painting media. All work must be original and completed within the last two years and must not have won any previous prize or award in any other art competition. The subject of each piece must be inspired by the City of Miami within its legal boundaries. No works depicting sites outside these boundaries will be considered (ineligible locations include Miami Beach, The Everglades, Coral Gables, and any other location not within the City's legal boundaries).

Requirements: Limit to three entries per artist. All entries must be 24" x 36". All works must include a hanging string on the back. Accepted mediums: oil, watercolor, acrylic, or pastel. No prints of any kind, copies from other artists, or published material will be allowed. Source material must be available upon request. Each artist will be asked to describe how their piece was inspired by the city. Entry fee: $20.00. Selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their pieces during a cocktail reception at the Bakehouse Art Complex (561 NW 32nd Street) on Thursday, May 12.
