Paint Livingston Plein Air Competition

Paint Livingston is a juried plein air competition presented by the Overton County Arts Council (OCAC), a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2024. The competition aims to have 30 participating artists and offers total prize money of $5,000. Main competition prizes include First Place ($1,350), Second Place ($900), Third Place ($500), and Honorable Mention ($250). A separate Quick Paint competition offers First Place ($850), Second Place ($600), Third Place ($400), and Honorable Mention ($150). The 2025 judge is Pamela B. Padgett, an accomplished artist with Signature status in the American Impressionist Society.

Entry requires a non-refundable $40 application fee and submission of three paintings for jury evaluation. Applications and artwork must be submitted online at PaintLivingston.com. The entry deadline is August 18, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Jury dates are August 19 - September 3, 2025. The competition is open to national artists.

The event takes place October 1-4, 2025 in Livingston, Tennessee, a town of 4,000 located in north central Tennessee known for its picturesque town square, natural beauty, and proximity to Dale Hollow Lake and Standing Stone State Park. The event schedule includes artist check-in and informational meeting on October 1, painting throughout October 2-3, a Patron & Member Preview Reception & Art Sale on October 3, and the Quick Paint competition and awards announcement on October 4. Artists are invited to attend OCAC-sponsored receptions and dinners at no cost with RSVP by September 16. A free lunch is provided on October 4.
