Paint Grand Traverse 2025

Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City, Michigan seeks artists for Paint Grand Traverse: a plein air affair, a national plein air painting festival and competition now in its seventh year. The festival features 32 artists from across the country and is open to all U.S. residents, 18 years and older. All painting media are eligible.

Prizes include a $3,500 cash award for Best of Show and a total of $18,000 in cash and prizes awarded in a variety of categories. The event takes place June 14-21, 2025, with an extended exhibition running June 24-August 22, 2025. Housing is available for artists who live more than an hour away in local host homes.

Submit 5-7 images of recent plein air work online by December 1, 2024. Entry fee is $40.00 per artist (CTAC members $30.00; Artist Guild Members submit free). Submissions must include artwork title, dimensions, medium, date, artist bio and C.V., and artist statement. A panel of five jurors will review submissions December 2-15, 2024, with acceptance notifications sent by December 20, 2024. Accepted artists must submit a signed letter of agreement by January 17, 2025. Works created during the festival must be for sale, with Crooked Tree Arts Center retaining a 40% commission on all sales. Contact [email protected] for questions.
