Paint Grand Traverse 2024

Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City, Michigan seeks artists for Paint Grand Traverse, a national plein air painting festival and competition now in its seventh year. The festival features 32 artists from across the country and is open to all U.S. residents, 18 years and older. All painting media are eligible.

Artists must submit 5-7 images of recent plein air artwork online between October 1 and November 30, 2023. The entry fee is $40.00 ($30.00 for CTAC members; free for CTAC Artist Guild Members). Submissions will be scored by a panel of five jurors comprised of practicing artists, teachers, collectors, and curators. Notification of acceptance will be sent on or before December 20, 2023. Accepted artists must submit a signed letter of agreement, bio, and promotional images by January 14, 2024.

The festival runs June 15-22, 2024, with an extended exhibition from June 25-August 23, 2024. Prizes total $15,000 in cash and awards, with a Best of Show award of $2,500. Works created during the festival must be for sale, with prices set by the artist. Crooked Tree Arts Center retains a 40% commission on all sales. Housing is available for artists who live more than an hour away in local host homes.
