Paint Annapolis 2026 Juried Artist Application

Paint Annapolis is a seven-day juried plein air painting competition held June 1–7, 2026, bringing artists from across North America and Europe to Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. For 25 years, Paint Annapolis has been a premier outdoor painting event where artists paint the historic town, exhibit work in Circle Gallery, and compete for cash awards totaling $15,000.

Thirty artists will be selected as juried artists, with additional artists selected as alternates. Entry is open to all artists internationally. A maximum of 3 original plein air works created within the past 3 years may be entered. All entries must be original and completed solely by the artist's hand. Entry fee is $50 for 1–3 entries (non-refundable). Artists who enter but are not selected as juried artists may participate as public artists at no additional fee. If selected, artists must submit a 300-word bio in third person, a headshot, and images of their work, and confirm participation via email by the specified date.

All work must be uploaded through artcall.org with a maximum file size of 10 MB. The juried artist application opens October 22 and closes January 21. Additional event dates include May 31 (Dueling Brushes Quick Draw) and June 5 (Collector's Reception and Awards Ceremony). Artists will retain 60% from sales of work made during Paint Annapolis, with MFA retaining 40% commission. Work cannot be withdrawn before the end of the event. Images of work may be used by MFA for promotional purposes including invitations, catalogs, websites, and social media, with attribution included wherever possible.
