About This Call
Sanchez Art Center and the Fog Fest Organizing Group, Inc. invite artists to submit work for the Pacific Coast Fog Fest Graphic Art Poster Design Contest. The submission period runs from March 23 to May 18, 2018. Artists may submit up to three two-dimensional, portrait-oriented original works of art. All fine art visual media may be entered except photography. Suggested themes include "Fog Fest Full Sail 33" (this year's overall and parade theme), coastal, beach, surfing, music, art, mountains, and mermaids. The winning artwork will be used for the official poster for the 2018 Pacific Coast Fog Fest, created in two sizes: 11" x 17" and 8.5" x 11".
Eligibility is limited to artists 18 or older who reside or work in one of the following Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, or Sonoma. Entry fee is $15 per image submitted ($15 for one image, $30 for two images, $45 for three images). The winning artist will receive a $1,000 prize from the Fog Fest Organizing Group, Inc. The artwork will be used for Fog Fest posters and other printed materials, and portions may be used as graphics on souvenir items. The winning artist will retain the original artwork and digital image but grants FFOG, Inc. exclusive rights to use the poster submission for any Fog Fest-related purposes.
Results will be announced on Thursday, May 24, 2018. The winner's original artwork may be exhibited in Sanchez Art Center's East Gallery as part of the Fog Fest exhibition. If sold during the exhibit, Sanchez Art Center will handle sales tax and collect a 30% commission. The Pacific Coast Fog Fest takes place September 29–30, 2018. For more information, contact Sanchez Art Center at 650.355.1894 or [email protected].
