About This Call

The Town of Parker is requesting qualifications from Colorado-based mural artists or artist teams to create site-specific murals for the new parking garage at the Parker Arts, Culture and Events Center (PACE) in downtown Parker. The project consists of four separate mural areas totaling 8,293 square feet on the east and west facades of the 48-foot-tall garage. The total art budget is up to $350,000, all inclusive of design fees, materials, equipment, installation, insurance, and all other project-related costs. Artists are expected to procure their own equipment, prime mural areas as needed, and provide final UV/Graffiti coating after completion.

The selection panel is composed of project team members, public art commission members, town staff, business owners, and community representatives. There are no restrictions on theme, subject matter, style, or genre, though the panel has expressed interest in colorful, lively, tasteful, and unique community-connected murals. Selection will be based on overall artistic excellence and the artist's experience with large-scale outdoor mural design and execution. Artists must demonstrate skills and experience necessary to complete larger outdoor mural installations and may apply individually or as teams.

Eligibility is limited to Colorado-based artists only (those who live and work in Colorado at least half of the year). Qualification proposals must include up to eight digital images of previously completed work (preferably public art and murals of similar scale), a current résumé or bio with an executive summary if longer than two pages, a statement of interest (250 words or less) outlining experience with projects of this scope and complexity, and responses to required questions about residency and relevant project experience. The deadline for submission is May 12, 2025 at 5:00 pm MST. Semi-finalists may be invited to interview and prepare design proposals. The tentative schedule includes semi-finalist selection by May 19, design proposals in late June, public comment and finalist selection in July, and expected installation in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.
