Own an Original: Together (again)

The City of Littleton Fine Arts Board presents the 56th Annual Own an Original Arts Exhibition, awarding over $1,800 in cash prizes. This competition is open to Colorado residents who are able to hand deliver their artwork in person to the Littleton Museum. Artwork cannot be shipped. The competition is open to any medium except photography, video, or audio. Entry fee is $30 (non-refundable). Entrants may submit up to three works of art for consideration, with one image of each work allowed.

This year's theme is "Together (again)." Artists should explain how their works interpret this theme through a short statement submitted with their entry. Related ideas include companionship, belonging, family/kinship, friendship/groups, and close bonds. All work must be original, produced in the last three years, and not shown in a Denver area juried show in the last two years. Artwork shall not exceed 60 inches on any one measurement. Artwork that is to be hung must be ready to hang with strong wire or proper material for hanging (no saw tooth hangers). The use of organic matter is discouraged to prevent pest infestation and is subject to approval by the Littleton Museum Director.

Deadline for submission is Thursday, October 7, 2021 at midnight local time. If accepted, artwork must be delivered in person to Littleton Museum (6028 S. Gallup Street, Littleton, Colorado 80120) on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 between 3pm and 7pm. Accepted artwork will be on display in the Littleton Museum Fine Arts Gallery from November 12 – December 31, 2021. Award winners will be notified by phone or email on or around November 10, 2021. Awards: Best of Show $1,000, First Place $500, Second Place $250, Third Place $100. Following the exhibit, artwork must be picked up on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 between 9am and 3pm.
