Own an Original Arts Exhibition

The City of Littleton Fine Arts Board presents the 53rd Annual Own an Original Arts Exhibition, a juried competition open to Colorado residents. This year's theme is "Ritual," seeking fine art submissions that explore the concept of ritual in its various forms—cultural, seasonal, interpersonal, ceremonial, transformative, or habitual. Artworks can be traditional or non-representational. The competition excludes photography, video, and audio.

Entry fee is $30 (non-refundable). Submissions must be original work produced in the last three years and not previously shown in a Denver area juried show in the last two years. Entrants may submit up to three works of art, with one image per work. All entries must be available for sale. The Fine Arts Board will charge a 25% commission on the sale price of any artwork sold during the exhibit. Artwork must not exceed 60 inches on any one measurement. Submissions are accepted through callforentry.org with a deadline of Friday, October 19, 2018 at midnight mountain time.

If accepted, artwork must be hand-delivered to Littleton Museum (6028 S. Gallup Street, Littleton, Colorado 80120) on Monday, November 5, 2018 between 3pm and 7pm. The exhibition runs November 16, 2018 – January 6, 2019. Awards total over $1,800: Best of Show ($1,000 plus an exhibition the following year), First Place ($500), Second Place ($250), and Third Place ($100). Award winners will be notified by phone or email on or around November 14, 2018. Unsold artwork must be picked up on Monday, January 7, 2019 between 9am and 3pm; artwork not picked up at the specified time will be forfeited and become the property of the City of Littleton.
