Own an Original 2019 - Destination

The City of Littleton Fine Arts Board presents the 54th Annual Own an Original Arts Exhibition, a juried competition open to Colorado residents. The exhibition awards over $1,800 in cash prizes, with Best of Show receiving $1,000 and a joint exhibition in 2020, First Place $500, Second Place $250, and Third Place $100. This year's theme is "Destination," exploring the concept of endpoints, goals, and purpose in artwork. The juror is Gwen Chanzit.

Artwork must be original, produced in the last three years, and not previously shown in a Denver area juried show in the last two years. All media are accepted except photography, video, and audio. Entrants may submit up to three works of art. The entry fee is $30 (non-refundable). Artwork must be hand-delivered in person to the Littleton Museum; shipping is not accepted. All entries must be available for sale, and the Fine Arts Board will charge a 25% commission on any artwork sold during the exhibit. Artwork shall not exceed 60 inches on any one measurement. Entrants must include a short statement on how their work relates to the theme of "Destination."

Submissions open Tuesday, September 3, 2019, with a deadline of Friday, October 18, 2019 at midnight MDT through CallForEntry.org. Acceptance and rejection notifications will be sent by USPS mail on or around October 25, 2019. If accepted, artwork must be delivered in person to Littleton Museum on Monday, November 11, 2019 between 3pm and 7pm (a proxy may be sent with written permission). The exhibition runs November 22 – December 29, 2019 at the Littleton Museum Fine Arts Gallery, located at 6028 S. Gallup Street, Littleton, Colorado 80120. Unsold artwork must be picked up on Monday, December 30, 2019 between 9am and 3pm; artwork not picked up at the specified time will be forfeited and become the property of the City of Littleton.
