About This Call
The Overland Park Fall Festival is a highly anticipated city tradition held the last weekend in September in historic Downtown Overland Park. The festival draws tens of thousands of visitors and features great food, music, and artisans selling handmade products.
The City of Overland Park seeks artisans who work in a wide variety of media and create unique, handmade products. Accepted art categories include but are not limited to: bath products, ceramics, clothing, decoratives, encaustics, fashion accessories, florals, fiber art, furniture, garden art, glass, jewelry, leather goods, metal work, millinery, paintings in all media, paper goods, pet products, purses or totes, quilting, scented products, seasonal decorations, sewn works, textiles, toys, and wood work. Unacceptable items include mass-produced or commercially manufactured products, products with minimal embellishment, items not made by the applying artisan, commercially available products, products representing copyrighted intellectual property, and prepackaged non-concession food items.
Applications are reviewed weekly and accepted applicants are flagged INVITED. Space at the festival is limited, and an accepted application does not guarantee space. Artists must purchase their space to be CONFIRMED as a show artist. Selection criteria include handmade inventory, technical execution, uniqueness of product, price range (preferably not exceeding $5,000), appropriateness for a family-focused event, and overall booth aesthetics. Artisans must be present at the event. Setup occurs Friday, September 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, September 26 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Teardown is between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, with streets reopening by 8 p.m. All vendors are responsible for collecting sales tax on items sold. No refunds will be made for cancellations after August 15. The application fee is $10.00.
