About This Call
The Overland Park Fall Festival is a highly anticipated city tradition that draws tens of thousands to the historic Downtown Overland Park district. The festival seeks artisans who work in a wide variety of media, employ interesting techniques, create unique products or products that revive a lost art form as well as commonplace items that have been crafted to beautiful purpose. The event is currently sold out but accepting applications for the wait list to address anticipated cancellations.
The festival takes place the last weekend in September: Friday, September 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, September 27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The City accepts only artisans creating 100% handmade products, and artisans must be present at the event. Art categories include bath products, ceramics, clothing, decoratives, encaustics, fashion accessories, florals, fiber art, furniture, garden art, glass, jewelry, leather goods, metal work, millinery, paintings in all media, paper goods, pet products, purses or totes, quilting, scented products, seasonal decorations, sewnworks, textiles, toys and wood work.
Applications require 5 images and a booth shot, with no application fee. Applications are reviewed weekly, and emerging artists are accepted. The event prefers prices not exceed $5,000 and seeks a wide price range. To foster artistic diversity, there will be a limited number of booths in popular categories. Space is limited, and accepted applications do not guarantee space - artists must purchase their space to be confirmed as a show artist.
